I posted a problem with droplets on this fine forum early in May. I have had a few fairly good suggestions, however I still cannot get droplets to work on one of my PCs. I have tried everything short of blowing out the OS and re-installing it, something I shouldn’t have to do.

I contact Adobe tech support which had me try a number of things. Per their request I sent them a created droplet, an action associated with the droplet and even my registry, That was almost three weeks ago. One would have thought that they might have contacted me with a status, but I’ve heard nothing.

Sorry for the rant, but as a very true supporter of their products I find it a bit of a pain being blown off by them.

Adobe has a 30-day evaluation limit on the trial version of PSCS. One way to override it is to completely format the hard drive and load it again. Adobe knows that there aren’t many people who would do this to avoid buying their product because it’s such a hassle.

Odd that they would ask you to do it knowing what a task it is. I can’t think of any single software worth the format routine to get it to work. If your machine has lots of issues, OK, but not to get one application working.

Well no evaluation here, full CS1 suit.

I agree

Its a new PC with a new build, not much on the system. The reason i can think that they asked me to reformat, becasue they dont have a clue what is cuasing the issue, and just fob me off.

Why would you think that? If you don’t contact them, they will assume your problem was solved with what they did. If it persists, you will have to contact them.

Thee_,

I wasn’t suggesting you had the trial version, just that Adobe had it set up such that it’s difficult to override it. Asking a customer to format a drive is a big step, certainly bigger when they have no idea if it will fix the problem.

Don, I might agree with you but it’s not a good way to do business. Then again, Adobe, like many other companies has done things that defy good business logic.

Pinnacle has a system whereby if they don’t hear back from you after a certain period of time, they contact you to see how it’s going.

Maybe they care enough to be sure the customer isn’t so frustrated that they gave up on Pinnacle’s product. Maybe it’s so Pinnacle can enter it into their data base of solutions that work.

Either way, they get back.

Speaking to a person on the phone is ok, but only if they can help, but all other repsonses i got from Adobe where just preformated e-mails, with no conection to my problem. the porblem has been with me for 2 months now, and i have had to give up using text in photohsop, complete nightmare. I just hope when i upgrade to CS2 this wont be a problem for me, if so, im going to have to rebuild again 🙁

I got an Adobe Support e-mail a couple of days ago. I was amazed at the huge number of issues that had to be covered.

I’m still waiting to upgrade.

Thee, the text issue is perplexing. I wonder how many of these problems may be due to the cd itself being faulty. With audio cd, a certain bit error rate is acceptable from the medium as the software fills in the gaps, or blanks completely if an error is large enough. What does a data cd do to cover BER?

I have installed more than one version of CS on this PC, 3 infact, all have the same problem.I have installed them on a lessor PC, and it works. If i had installed on a PC I had been using for a long time, i could understand the issue could have something to do with me screwing with the system. But this PC was bought and spected just for me to run photoshop on, and everything else comes second, CS and Corel where the only things installed since then i have added more, but im not prepaired to reformat, as i realy dont think its going to help. once i get CS2, then if nothing works, reformat is going to happen.
