I was using File Brower to sort and add keywords to Raw files on my laptop (Windows XP) and had been doing this for hours when for no particular reason File Browser stopped seeing file folders and eventually could not see any directory or drive. I thought I was having a hard drive problem, so copied all the files to my Desktop machine (WIN 2K) then opened CS and File Browser and the same problem started to occur, (in the one folder I opened, the all previews wouldn’t generate and some that did, disappeared and returned when I clicked on the file) so I stopped using File Browser. I could still open the files from Photoshop one at a time.

On the laptop, I tried Photoshop File – Browse and some File folders and files still show up (half missing on the browser drop-down file menu) and these files still open.

I don’t want to experiment in case I lose my Raw files.

Any suggestions please?

I think I found the problem. I seemed to have unchecked the View Folders item in the View menu. I hope this was the only problem as it doesn’t seem to deal with the issue on my desktop machine. Will wait and see.

How stupid can you get? – Oh well.

Hey – easily done. And by sharing it on this forum you’ll help others who might experience the same thing.
