Yes, I have checked the manual first, but either I’m blind or looking in all the wrong places…I can’t figure this out:

When I opened P’shop this morning, I tried using the smudge tool…previously, I would see a circular cursor while using the tool which would change size when I adjusted the tool’s pixel size. Now, it’s just a dot, so I have no visual cue to help.

I switched to a few other tools, healing brush, paintbrush, etc. … same problem. I can’t find anything to help me revert to the setting I had before, nor I can I remember how I set it.

Apologies if this is one of those basic questions that gets asked a lot. I visit here infrequently, and am usually able to figure things out on my own. Any help would be much appreciated.

Check that the CAPSLOCK key is not pressed. If the capslock is pressed, tools will be set from their present settings to "precise" (which is a cross).

Thank you very much, Johan. That is exactly what happened. Sometimes the little things are the biggest frustrations! I appreciate your help.
