I recently purchased the current version of Photoshop CS2 and I’m in the process of learning the product’s capabilities.

The system that I’m running Photoshop CS2 on is:

Inspiron 8500,Pentium 4, 2.6 GHz,15.4IN WUXGA LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, Wide Ultra Extended Graphics Array, NO-SPWG, 15.4, SHARP monitor screen

According to all documentation that I’ve researched, the ‘optimal’ resolution to view on the monitor is 1920X1200.

I have the DPI setting set to 120. The refresh rate for this screen is 60 Hertz.

I’m using Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.

When I launch CS2 the text display on my laptop display is so small that it is extremely difficult to read.

Text on the menu bar is reasonably readable. Text on the Options Bar, in Bridge display and the Palettes area is extremely small , probably a size 6 font. Also, is there any way to increase the size of the Toolbox?

Do you have any suggestions how I can increase the font size in the display area so that it is more easily readable? Is there any patch or driver update that Adobe is providing to alleviate this difficulty?

Thanks for taking the time to provide input into my concern.

I’ve got an Inspiron 6000 with pretty much the same display. I have it set to 1920×1200 at 96dpi and large fonts. I’m not having any problem. I don’t like the 120 dpi setting since it tends to blur the text.

The fact is that with a display running at such a high resolution, you’re going to have to live smaller text.

I realize it’s really cool to run 1920 x 1200, but such a high rez on a small screen is going to give you these kinds of problems. I’d suggest either using a larger screen, or simply backing the resolution off (just remember to use a native rez for your laptop’s screen).
