In Photoshop CS when I added a duplicate layer and changed the blending mode, for example, it was only one mouse click to then open the Layer drop-down menu.

In Photoshop CS2 when I add a duplicate layer it requires two mouse clicks to open the Layer drop-down menu. Hovering the cursor over the Layer menu, the first click only closes the Layers pallet. The second click opens the Layer drop down menu.

Is there any way around this?

I am using a PC with Windows Xp Home edition 1.5gig ram.

"closes the layers palette"? That doesn’t make sense.

John, are you perhaps clicking on the layer minimize button?

I read it to mean when the pallette is dropped down from the pallette well raher than floating. The first click of a menu item just closes the palette well, a second click is needed to action the menu item.
