I have been printing loads of photos from Photoshop lately. Mostly color correcting, cropping photos and printing. With my Epson 2200, I am running $100 a week in ink.

I have been looking at Continuous Ink Systems, but I am worried about loosing color gamut.

Does anyone here have any experience with CIS? Any recommendations?

I have been looking at these systems:

MIS – <http://www.inksupply.com/cfs_2200_new.cfm>
Media Street – < http://www.mediastreet.com/cgi-bin/tame/mediastreet/n2.tam?& amp;case=config2&prd=2200&ink=G6&set=7>
InkRepublic – <http://www.inkrepublic.com/ProductDetail.asp?item=2200> Lyson – <http://www.lyson.com/cis.html>

I am thinking that I like the InkRepublic system with the Media Street

Any recomendations or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kirk

I’ve tried inkrepublic.com ‘s kit for the 2200 with inkspecialist.com ‘s ink without experiencing any problem. The picture quality is good and the kit works just fine. Cross my fingers..lol
I’ve never tried mediastreet or lyson’s kit but I guess thoese companies are well known.
One thing I can tell you is that try to avoid buying from Ebay. I’ve tried few different kit from Ebay. AVOID it.
It looks great when you open the box but after a month or two, you will have to stop the production line and trouble shooting yourself. Most likely, you will have to buy a new printer. Also the ink that came with it will fade out.

Kirk,

I have a CIS from <http://www.nomorecarts.com/> but it looks the same as the one on the lyson website.
I am using dye based inks for my Epson 1290 and am very pleased with the results and of course with the enormous savings.
Already using this CIS for many years without any problems.

Ronald

I do have InkRepublic’s CIS. I saw many people are talking about InkRepublic’s stuff on dpreview
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1003&me ssage=13429319

Including me, most of photographer and bulk printing people like InkRepublic’s CIS.
my friend have been using InkRepublic’s C86 CIS and been printing about 12000 pages. (12K pages)

in the past, he used mediastreet’s and lyson’s, no good result at all. clogged print head all the time.
if you used their mediastreet’s or lyson’s before, you know what i am talking about. Even mediastreet and lyson’s CIS do not support their own ink. their ink clog their CIS all the time.

if you like Mediastreet’s ink, my suggestion to u is to get InkRepublic’s 2200 CIS and get ink from mediastreet.
many photographers are using such solution. or you can try InkRepublic’s ink too.

perhaps you can get more idea about InkRepublic’s 2200 CIS from these reviews:

drop me a line if you need any help.
