I’m running into a problem with CS2. If I change ink modes on a layer, then go to use the cursor keys to nudge a selection or layer, it instead changes the Ink mode. I’ve hit Return but it does not fix anything. All I want to do is nudge! Any suggestions?

EDIT: I discovered that ESC will fix my problems. Interestingly, In every mode in photoshop like this, ESC cancels and reverts the changes, but with the ink mode, it exits without reverting. Odd.

Hanford,

By Ink mode I presume you mean Blend mode.

It is quite normal that when a dialogue has focus, the arrow keys are locked to it. It has been this way in all Photoshop versions.

I just click the ‘title bar’ of a palette to remove focus after a dialogue change.

He’s right Mathias. After changing the blending mode, you’ll have to re-click on the layer, or press Esc, or Tab twice, etc., to remove focus from the blend mode drop-down. I’ve never really notice this since I use Shift++ and Shift+- to cycle blend modes and/or use the Alt+Shift+Letter keys to choose a specific blend mode.
