Considering your e-mail address is listed on so many crack sites including one bragging about the Photoshop 8 crack, I, for one, cannot in all good consciousness see my way clear to help you whatsoever.

Is he even serious or is he just thumbing his nose?
You wouldn’t list your email address as "crackpros" in a commercial forum for any other reasons would you?

sorry you feel that way. The email address is the only one I have and it is for my company. "crack pros" please visit www.crackprosinc.com to verify my factual information
Thanks

Well, that was amusing!

Off topic, but… if you have a domain name, what the heck are you using a yahoo email address for? Why aren’t you ? Then the overzealous could have more accurately looked you up.

Here in Crackramento, we have a KRAK radio station and a TV station with the calls KCRA but call up <http://www.kcra.com> and you get an inexplicable redirect and they wonder why everyone calls them the Krack Channel.

Hey, I said it was off topic.

In the help file, do a search for ‘extract.’ That’s your first step. And thanks for loving your wife.

Who’d have guessed?

Mike, it’s just that people who’ve paid good money for their software get touchy about the word "crack".

Okay Mike. But just so you know, google your e-mail addy and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Have edited and would like to know how to apply a colored gradient background? Unfortunately, I would need click by click help.

Sadly, what you want to do is either easy or hard. It all depends on image composition, intent, and your familiarity with PS tools.

I cannot give you click by click because of the above, but this will be an outstanding opportunity to learn some things about photoshop so you can decide for yourself what tools you need.

In essence, you need to isolate your wife. You can do that via a variety of means, and people, especially those with hair on their head, are difficult to isolate. Let’s say she was on a white background – then you could use something like the magic wand tool and select the background – then invert it, if necessary. You may have to tweak the selection. How? Well, one way would be the quickmask tool. Of course, you could use a channel and tweak that. See what I mean?

Once isolated, you could either apply a gradient mask, or paste her on a gradient background.

My entire point is, it’s not easy when one cannot see the image or know how it’ll be used. But with the above, you can begin playing and learn what tools do or don’t work for you. Then you can come back and ask specific questions, after you’ve encountered problems that you cannot solve with the help of the help file/manual.

Well, thanks folks. thanks for the attempt to help and, thanks for the closed minded comments. Sad but true, that in this world pornography has skewed the use of common every day words. However for my business the name does stick in the minds of those who read my advertising. And, it speaks clearly of the services we provide.
That said,,,, (thanks for reading) My brother had passed away and in cleaning out his home, I came across the 7.0 version, but was not able to find an instruction manual at all. Not being a Pro, I am unfaminiar with the technical language in the "help" file, therefore I had thought to ask the "Pros" in this forum.
I had applied the techniques in the artical on page 18 by Darryl C. Nichols "Using The Extract Tool" in the June issue of Shutterbug Magazine. Steps 1 thru 11 were fine, but there Mr. Nichols stopped and jumped far ahead of my knowledge. Seems to me I just need a couple of clicks from there. However, I am trying to apply a color background to a black and white photo.
Again, thanks for the attempt at help and comments. guess I’ll just hang it in B&W. But no thanks, I wont do a google search for "crack" anything. IT’s just not me.

Mike,
This business about your email name has nothing whatsoever to do with pornography!

"Crack" is a term used by people who find out how to circumvent the copy/activation code in software programs. In other words people who want to illegally copy a program and use it without paying for it.

It was not unreasonable, given your email name, to suppose something was not legit about your request.
You explained it and we now get it.

And it has nothing to do with being "closed minded". Cracking a program is stealing. What’s closed minded about not liking stealing?

Tony, I checked Mike’s email address on google and got no hits on the web and only one hit on groups — his posting here, as carried on Usenet.
