When I have the autorotate feature turned on with my Nikon D2X when I load a file that was shot vertical into Photoshop CS2 it is automatically rotated to the correct orientation. However that file is still in the horizontal rotation if I use Windows Fax and Picture Viewer or if I use Windows Explorer. Is there a way to have PS CS2 automatically release the vertical autorotate information and to save the file so that normal windows programs that can’t read the autorotate information display the photo in the correct orientation.

Lee,

Unfortunately there is no way around this. In fact I am surprised that autorotate works with Photoshop. I have a Nikon D70 and Photoshop CS, and autorotate is only recognized in Nikon software. Must be a new CS2 feature.

Must be a CS2 feature as I have CS2 and they do show up autorotated.
