I am curently building a new workstation, one that can hold a max of 4 gig of ram. I was told by a friend that Photoshop will not run on a PC with more than 2 gig of ram. Does anyone know if that is still true and if Adobe has any plans to change that….

Thanks

Photoshop will run with more RAM, but Photoshop cannot use more than 2 Gig of RAM.

No Windows app can make use of more than 2Gb of RAM. You could use the extra RAM to make a RAM disk – I’m sure PS could benefit from that.

Still 4GB sounds cooler. Does 4GB help more when running multi-apps? Video editing?

4 gb will help with running more apps at once, something of vital importance when you’re trying to run AI, PS, ID and Acrobat at the same time.
