Two unrelated questions.

1) Is there a tutorial or a plug-in that does these kind of simple line frames: <http://www.homegrownaudio.com>

I don’t want a fancy wood frame or a watercolor sketchy frame. Just something simple like that one they use on the front page surrounding their splash image.

2) Anybody know how to create wireframes in photoshop? Like this: <http://www.zucable.com/warmouth/images/warmouth.jpg>

See how the connector sorta turns into a mesh wrieframe?

alienskin’s splat has a geometric frame setting you might use:

<http://www.alienskin.com/splat/splat_filters.html>

not sure what you mean by "wireframe" in the second example though. it looks like just a border with a bevel to me…

Thanks for the reply!! Look at the closeup on bottom of that collage — it’s a close-up of the connector and it turns from a photograph to a wire mesh.

If you have access to Illustrator and at least a rudimentary understanding of how to use it borders like the top one (and ones considerably more complex than that) are relatively easy to make.

I do have access to illustrator, but a rudimentary understanding of it, I don’t. Can you point to anything that might shed some light?

Hmmm. I know what vignette is and can do it to a photo.

Look closely at the tip of the connector. It is a red wireframe. It sorta "morphs" into that red wireframe from a photo of the connector. I am NOT talking about the surrounding white/black gradient.

Thanks for all the help guys/gals…I appreciate it. 😀

Only thing wireframe’ish I can see is the closeup connecter in the bottom left. It’s the very tip of the connecters plug that seems to look like checkeered squares. Wireframe ?.

I only know in 3D, the image could have been done in 3D ?..its so small, low quality..I can not guess. This I know as I have learnt 3D computer graphics..can be done it 2 ways.

1. I create a image with a cross in it the size of the image make the crosee go from side to side not corner to corner, so when it tiles it looks like square mesh. Then on the 3D object assign the image as a texture map / image map / diffuse map (whatever terminology is used in the program/around you) onto the 3D model, and set the mappign options to tile it.

2. There can be be a setting in the 3D objects materials that allow it or a part of it to render as wire frame mesh. Just turn this option on for the particular part. Then when the scene is rendered as a graphic that part is wireframe.

Anybody know how to create wireframes in photoshop?

http://www.adobe.com/products/streamline/;jsessionid=EVB2QHGGLJOZHQFI0IKRT5GAVDJBIIV1

Adobe Streamline, download the demo… it will take any raster image and create vector outlines of the image. Much better than CorelTrace you have a vector image that can be edited in Illustrator and converted back to raster in Photoshop. Very sweet!
