Hi There, I am looking for a good source of high res Stock Photography, possibly a subscription type of service. I have found several things on the web, i.e., photos.com etc., but am not sure enough about any to make the investment yet.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Try Hemara Photo-objects 50,000. There are currently 3 editions, I have 2 and 3. All objects are royalty free, but also are floating obejsect, with the back ground removed. I find mearly everything I want of thees CD’s. Personaly I would stay away from subscritption Stock art. way to expensive for my likings.

Note: it is great for web, but with pixel counts of about 600×600

Im afraid I would diagree, Im using the artwork for full sized posters, atleast 6 foot, now im not using the images at 6 foot, but they are working fine as part of the art work, you can export the images at full size 300dpi. Don part 3 has more of a 21st century feel, with less of those anoying slides. How uselse are those scanned slides?

Quite low rez images however, only 3 or 4 inches at 300ppi.

It’s merely interpolating.
If you check the "use at actual size" you get the original pixel count.

Yeah, Mac. The pixel dimension is the 600×600 (average) I mentioned. Really small if you are printing at high rez. I don’t know how Overlord is getting large images out of them.

True..

Btw, the best value in stock photo was always Corel Pro Photo CD Library series. Still available on eBay. 100 18MB images per CD. 800 different themed CDs were made in 4 200 CD libraries. Also issued as singles and 10 packs.

I have a Library 1 for sale also if anyone is interested, 200 CDs.

18mb images sounds more like it to me though, certanly wouldnt turn my nose up at that, but one has to work with what one has.

<http://www.gettyone.com>

This site has several stock vendors selling through this central location. Some of them can be kinda pricey but many of the images are outstanding for professional design work. If you’re just looking to make a birthday card for mom, though, I’d stay away and not risk the sticker shock!
