I upgraded from CDS to CS2 about a month ago. Here are some of the problems that I have encountered.

Text tool: a measure such as 12 pt produces a huge font. To get conventional text sizes, one has to go to 0.5 pt and the like.

Layer palette: Often after creating a new layer, the layers palette is void until resized.

One has to use Cntl C and V to copy and paste. Shift Insert, Cntl Insert no longer work.

Smart Sharpen is all very fine, but a setting of say 30% is vastly "stronger" than was 30% in unsharp mask. It doesn’t seem to cope with subtle sharpening at all well.

The text-follows-a-path facility works only occasionally. Evidently there is a trick to it, but not one documented.

The program when minimised in the Windows task bar will not return to size unless right clicked > restore.

Menus – thin, hard to read font.

Try Resetting the Preferences file (as per the FAQs).

Failing that you may have to reistall. If you do, delete the prefs file first.

Best of luck with it.

What resolution are you working at? Sounds like you use a very low one.

For copy-paste, I think that somebody already put a feature request to have it back.

What other settings are you using? what is the resolution of the file, again?

As for your layer palette issue, and text on a Path, it is strange, no one else mentionned it. Maybe a problem on your machine/OS?

When you minimize, what other apps are running? it might be useful if the engineers visit this forum.

For the font in the menu, you can choose three sizes in the preferences.

Thank you for the response. I use 300 dpi on a 1490 x 800, 33" screen

With respect, you cannot. What that changes is font preview, which is irrelevant. I have mentioned these things because they may help to improve the package. You may expect that we have tried all obvious measures before doing so.

However, with nearly half the European population passing their 50th birthday, software manufacturers are going to have to stop relying on good eyesight. It is ludicrous that a package such as this one comes with fixed font that only a tiny tot can read from a distance of a metre or so.
