Hi everyone, I hope I am doing this correctly. Today I installed Photoshop CS2/Image Ready CS2 I am using Windows XP pentium 4 2 month old puter has 150 hd only 10 gigs used up so far 1024mb RAM. Installation went fine did the updates for it. Played around with it. When i went to open the program tonight it hung up on me alot did a repair installation and still same thing did a complete uninstall reinstall same thing only this time after it hung up awhile I received an error saying that it could not find _ISource.dll. I clicked ok and program opened and all is working so I am a bit baffled. I have no idea what this dll is or what its used for but it must have something to do with starting the program, any ideas what could be wrong, I have never had a previous version of ps. Any help would be so appreciated and I am very sorry if this particular problem has been posted I did search the forums for over an hour and didnt see this error
Thanking you in advance
CC

first thing to try when things get wierd is reset the prefrences. see this FAQ link:

The missing .dll file is probably related to some other software you have installed. I did a quick search on google.com for the ISource.dll and there are several possibilities…do you have a software called DotImage or some other made by Atalasoft? Reinstall or do a repair installation if available of this software and it should correct the problem you are having with PSCS2. If that’s not the software, do the search yourself for ISource.dll and see if you can find the culprit that causing the problem.

Thank you both so much i did the ctrl alt shift and it opened great…closed it and it was still that error. I have no idea about any of those programs and did a search as Patti suggested and i dont know any of them. Then i disabled PS to look for my plugins in an outside folder and it seems it must be with one of my outside plugins cause it loads fine without the plug ins so i will search to see which is the culprit. I appreciate both your help and patience and I thank you so very much

A quick way of isolating the troublesome plug-in is to add a tilde (~) in front of each filename. This will disable them. Then reinstate each in turn until the culprit is found.

Chris.
