Do you have another Epson printer on a different USB port, or have you had one on this system config in the past? Or other USB I/O that has used the USP port that the 2200 is now using?
I’ve experienced a variation of this problem with an Epson 1200 when the print monitor had been loaded to monitor a different USB address. The print operation seemed to get hung up in the end of print process. You might try turning off the resident printer monitor and see if that helps.
Also try killing the Epson print preview in the Epson preferences dialog…it may not be hanging up, it’s just that the Epson print preview window tends to open behind photoshop and if you don’t click on Print in the Epson print preview it will not send the job to the printer…(I had problems with this the first week I owned the 2200 and being that the Epson preview is not color managed, it’s kind of worthless any way!
Thanks, I’ll give your suggestions a try.
The preview is useful for making sure there are no last munute mistakes. Once my printer is configured for the jobs at hand, I go direct to print, and if I am off on a size or some other gross error, I can fix it. Saves a bit of time in producing a sequence of prints.
Lawrence,
I just hate that the only place to see if the stupid Epson preview is on is the task bar, it doesn’t jump to the top of the stack of windows when you are working with it on, if you have other programs open (and who doesn’t) and you have to go find it!
The first couple of days I had the printer it was just frustrating that when I sent multiple files to the printer only one would fire if I didn’t go back and click on the "print" button for every job on the Epson preview.
Funny that, my print preview is always on top (Stylus Photo 890).
