I am using Photoshop 7.0 with Windows XP. I am a new user. I want to know how to take a JPEG image of, say, 1 meg size, and reduce it to a file size of below 100k. Ira M.

One way is to reduce the pixel count.
Another way is to change the compression setting.
Between these two, I would change the compression setting (when you save the file).

Go under image -image size , and there you can enter the reduced size you wish your image to become. make sure you save your original file untouched before you make changes to it permanently altering it forever.

Another method is to go to Help….Resize Image Wizard. But I don’t know the difference between this method and the other two above. Walter
