Greetings,

"Using Photoshop 7.0 I’m trying to replace a color. I have the area selected using the lasso, and I have the color I want to replace with in the box in the left, the top one. I go under Imave -> adjustments then replace color. I use the eyedropper to select the color I want to replace. then what? Anytime i want to actually replace the color wherever I click it just samples that color and puts it in the box on the right.

I can’t actually select the exact color I want with the sliders, so I have to choose the color from another part of the image. Is there another way to do it?"

Thanks,
John

John, i rarely use replace color, but if you click in the lower box,the color picker will appear, and you can pick anywhere on the color bar,and the color box will change to that spectrum, were you can then fine tune your choice.hit okay to loose the color picker, and then use the sliders to even further fine tune your color.hope this helps.also using the fuzziness slider will expand or contract colors you want affected.

John,i was looking at replace color on my work comp today and realized my advice was probably not pertinent to version 7. i am on cs and thought they were the same functionally, but replace color does not act the way i said in 7. i apologize if i lead you a stray.
