Hi,

I was handed a CD with a very large (2GB) .img file and was wondering if there’s any way to open this image in Photoshop (I tried but PS says it can’t because it’s "not the right kind of file.")

Is there any application that will open an .img file and allow me to save it as something PS can handle?

This is supposed to be some high-resolution color satellite imagery covering one entire state. I only need a small portion of this image which will eventually be placed in a printed publication. It was given to me on a DVD disc.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ed

Do a web search for "open .img files" and choose a link. You cannot open movie files in Photoshop. You need a virtual CD/DVD application.
