Another CS2 Lag post

I’ve looked through dozens of posts about CS2 lagging but my problem doesn’t seem to match the rest of them.

CS2 launches fine (about 15 seconds) then upon opening my first image (size doesn’t matter, 300Kpng or 5MBjpg) it takes about 2 minutes to open. Once it’s opened the first image then all following images open within seconds and filters are just as fast. CS1 had no problems at all. I have tried all the usual tweaks, Update VC drivers, page file, mem settings, and nothing has changed. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled following Adobe’s instructions in the knowledgebase.

Here are my PC specs, they don’t sound very powerful but CS1 ran great: ThinkPad T40
1.5 GHz Pentium M
ATI Radeon 7500
1GB Ram

is your default a network printer? is it offline? at any rate make sure your windows default printer is a local one, even if you have to create a fake one.
