Hello.

I’d like to know if cs2 works well with ati radeon 9800 or geforce 6600 cards? Right now I’m using radeon 7500, and in photoshop cs2 redrawing of the image and even just the toolbar is very slow and frustrating. I only had this problem with cs2, other versions worked perfectly.

Googling a little other people to have this problem as well, and it seems to be an issue with some cards (even new ones) and cs2.

So I’d like to know is if anyone has worked with cs2 on computer having one of the previously mentioned cards, if so did you experience any redrawing problems?

Thanks in advance.

Larry

You do not need a 3d uber game card to use Photoshop.
The problem running CS2 may be due to other bottlenecks in your computer. As the ATI 7500 is an old video card I suspect your CPU and memory , if of the same vintage as your video card, may not have enough oomph to run CS2 at reasonable speeds. Photoshop is probably the most challenging program available for a computer in terms of its demands for CPU and memory outside of 3d games.
If you post your computer specs this would help.

I have Athlon 3200+ and 1GB of ram. I have this problem even when there is no image opened in photoshop. If I switch to some program and then switch back to photoshop it takes more than a second to redraw all the tool windows.

I’m only experiencing this in photshop, and only in cs2 version. Older versions worked perfectly.
