You can link together as many layers as you want. Then under the layers pull-down menu pick delete linked layers.

Make the layers you want to delete hidden by clicking the "eye" then select "Delete Hidden Layers" from the palette menu.
I hope this helps.

Look again. It exists in 7.

Maybe I’m going crazy. Is it at the bottom of the Layers menu? Top? I’ll look again and do a snapshot.

In the Layers docker there are two boxes to the left of each layer. The first box allows you to choose whether a particular layer is visible or not and contains an eye icon when visibility is on. Click the square next to it for any layers that you want linked to the active layer — a chain icon will appear.

And then in the fly-out thingy at top right of the docker, choose Delete Linked Layers.

I use linked layers all the time. I thought the poster said that there was a menu item to "delete linked layers".

In PS, you can "New Set from Linked" then "Delete Layer Set".

You can make this combination an action to delete linked layers.

It’s in two places in 7. In the Layers menu at the top there is an item called Delete and the arrow shows deleting options. In the Layers Palette flyout arrow (top right of Layer Palette) it appears in the same section as New Layer,Duplicate Layer, Delete Layer, etc. If layers are not linked it will be grayed out.

In my copy of 7, you can use the pull-down menu Layers, pull down to Delete, and the fly-out lets you select Delete Linked Layers, just as was said above.
