I am trying to load the attached PNG file (not sure if it will upload), but I see no alpha channel in photoshop yet it’s obvious from looking at it that it has an alpha channel as you can see through on the outside. What gives!?

Thanks

Transparent images like this can be made by deleting the backgroung layer and saving as a PNG/GIF.
You don’t need an alpha channel for transparency.

Are you trying to pick the tree as a selection?
Ctrl+click on the layer should do the trick.
