Sorry if this is a dumb question, I know Adobe Quark a little but I’m new to photoshop…

What I’m trying to do is automate a process in which a .jpg file is opened, enlarged 200%, changed from RGB to Grayscale then back to RGB again.

Here’s the tricky part: I want each photo I process to get a little greener each time until the last photo is all green except for the basketballs, which should stay yellow (grayscale or RGB?) The first photo would have no green in it at all, except for the basketballs and two people on the left side of the photo, which are all green in the last photo.

When the pics are done, I need them to automatically go into a program like Quark Designer, where they’ll end up being sort of like a catalog or picture browser for a newspaper.

I have 300+ pics I want to do this to, so some sort of automation is the only way to go with this, but I don’t know exactly where to start…

Thank you for any help.

I am not totally sure what you are doing but I’ll take a stab.

First of all, Quark is not an Adobe product; it’s a page layout program and it’s not going to help you manipulate jpegs (which shouldn’t be used in Quark anyway).

Unless the basketballs are in the exact same position in every photo you are not going to be able to automate anything the way you seem to desire, and gradually shifting colors the way you describe is probably not something you are going to get in a Photoshop action.

Scripting Quark to import a bunch of images is not unheard of but again, I am not at all clear on what you are trying to achieve. There might be a way to do what you want but I’d like to see a clearer description. —

You can create an action for the above process.

But consider this: Then everything will be grey… (albeit in the RGB mode). Which means that all those color calculations you talk about after the above sentence will need to be done by making selections in the image and then tweaking the colors. I don’t think you’re going to be able to build an action for that part of the manipulation.
