Photoshop CS is running on a Pentium IV machine with 2.66 GHz and 2 GB RAM on WinXP SP2 here. Even if I do absolutely nothing, have no images open and Photoshop minimized, it eats up 40-50% of my processor time. First I did not notice, but then the constant humming of my cooling fan made me search for the reason.
I have no explanation whatsoever as to why this could happen. I would appreciate your help, this is so annoying!
