Hi,

I’m using Photoshot PS and have a problem when flattening my images:

The resulting image is different, it has less contrast/light/saturation.

It happens when I flatten the image or at the moment I try to save the file as JPG or TIFF. It is not an optical illusion, as the resulting file is really different from the one in the Photoshop format.

I’ve seen that it does not happen if I save the file as "save for Web".

Has anyone seen that?

Cheers,

Jordi.

Jordi: Are you Flattening the image or using Merge visible?

To be of any real help we would need to know what types of layer, adjustment layers, blending modes etc are in the rogue files.

You could try using merge down (Ctrl + E), starting from the top, to see when the problem kicks in.

It is also important to evalutate the image at 100% magnification. As a test, zoom to 100%, then flatten. Use the history palette to toggle between flattened and unflattened states. You shouldn’t see a difference.

Any magnification other than 100% is an approximation of the image.
