The first error message states
The operation could not be completed.

I click ok and then the following message appears.

The instruction at"0x00864a4d" referenced memory at "0x01180b08". The memory could not be "written". Click ok to terminate the program

This is NOT the first time this has happened. Last time I had to DELETE my CS2 folder and reinstall. Couln’t even uninstall the program or repair it.
I don’t know what to do. I have searched and searched.
PLEASE HELP!!

When you get messages about wrong memory locations, it’s a sure sign of either a version mismatch or a driver problem. Did you install CS2 to a different directory from CS or any prior version? Did you copy plugins from an old installation to the CS2 plugins directory? Have you tried reinstalling the PS2 help system from the CD or download, by clicking on the "Adobe Help Center 1.0.msi" file under ",,,\Adobe(R) Photoshop(R) CS2\help center"?

I have searched all my discs for the help file…I have the suite. I can’t find the file I can’t even open the ahc.exe file from the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Help Center When I try I get the same error.
No…I didn’t copy plugins from an old installation. It just happens all of a sudden when it happens. It is very frustrating. If you have the Suite could you Please tell me where the help file you are talking about is located.

The memory could not be "written"… <snip> … I had to DELETE my CS2 folder and reinstall. Couldn’t even uninstall the program.

Run checkdisk. Sound’s to me like you could have some bad sectors. If time is money, I’d recommend just bunging in a new HD and do a fresh install – OS and all!.

Then format the old drive. Any errors will be reported. If it comes up trumps, you’ve got some extra storage; if not, dump it.

Best of luck with it.

I ran into this error last week. I had to delete the Adobe Help Center folder in order to reinstall the Help Center. Prior to deleting the folder, I received an error message when attempting to repair it.

There’s a download for the Window’s Help Center 1.1 here < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1 07&platform=Windows>

The problem is most likely a corruption issue with the database that stores the help content. Please try the steps on the following webpage if the installation of version 1.1 doesn’t work: <http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/319210.html>.

The error message listed at the top of that tech tip is different than the one you’re receiving, but they are most likely caused by the same thing.
