I’ve searched high and low and cannot seem to find anything that explains how to create a "torn" edge look. I am looking for a natural soft edge look. Any Ideas?

Do you have a scanner? the best result i have ever got, is by tearing real paper and scanning it.

Trust me … I googled "torn edges", "ripped paper", I searched forums, sites and even checked out books at B&N last night and came to the same conlcusion that simply shredding a piece of paper may be best. I know it is something so simple, but I just couldn’t get there from here.

I am a member of photoshopuser.com and just now came across an article explaining this effect: Rough Watercolor Paper Edges.

Thank you for the thoughts!

In the link I placed above, to google, with the search results, there are many good ways of getting this affect. So im confused that you say

My thoughts are now confused, ho hum, good luck.
