Okay, so I have had Photoshop 7 installed and running on my computer for quite some time now. I am running Windows XP Professional Edition, and have had no problems up until today.

Today I was working on some freelance work… I closed everything down and went to lunch… came back and tried to start Photoshop… it acted like it was going to start… went through all the plug-ins, etc. but then when usually the program comes up… it just didn’t. No error message, nothing… just quit working.

So I uninstalled it… reinstalled it… didn’t work. Uninstalled it… reinstalled it on my D Drive… didn’t work… now InDesign still works, but not Photoshop.

Can anyone help me? I have a huge project due tomorrow and need to get this figured out…

Sincerely,

Justin

Ditch your preferences, move ALL 3rd-party (non Adobe) plugins to a different folder. Use your preset manager to clear out your Layer Style Presets, your brushes, your gradients, your Actions and your Custom Shapes.

Pare down the number of fonts you have loading at Photoshop startup to no more than you need.

Add stuff back little by little (for now, just the items you need for your project), and then add more until you find your problem.

If you have hardware video acceleration bumped up, pull that back to "NONE." and see if that helps.

sorry if this makes me sound stupid, but how do I do all of those things… Where do I find the preferences, etc.
