page file error? That comes from your OS, not Photoshop.

no, that error only happen when i use a "heavy" tool, im absoluetly sure that my computer is not the problem cause when i used the old OS it used to work perfect, but now, it crashes everytime.
now, im affraid to buy the new version, ’cause i guess that this problem can be repeated.

Thanks, but im still looking for help if someone can bring me more help!!

Again: that error would have to come from the OS. Photoshop doesn’t have a paging file, only scratch files.

Ok, i would take that idea like a posibility, but that isn’t the unique problem, when i used another tools it restart and the put a blue screen saying that IRQ_is_not_or_equal
In addition i download the patch for 7.0.1 but it says that it cant found the directory, so im beginnig to think that the photoshop is not compatible with xp sp2 or something like that.

Well cris i really apreciate your help, but i think i i should buy the new cs version.

The IRQ error comes from the OS or a driver.

And bluescreens are due to the OS or a driver.

This has nothing to do with Photoshop – and everything to do with a messed up OS.

Did you install XP over the top of the previous version of Windows?

This is often the cause of serious problems.

You probably need to reformat your C Drive and do a new clean install of Windows and your applications.

This may help

<http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm#RI>

There are differences between repair and re-install options.

There are some advantages if the repair retains data and setting rather than wiping everything away…

(maybe it was the outfit that installed my OS?)

what john said. even an "upgrade" version of xp likes to be installed on a freshly formatted or new disk. if you installed over top of another windows install (any version) you’re asking for these kinds of wierd problems.

backup, format and reinstall windows. the upgrade disk will ask for another disk for verification so keep it handy. update xp to sp2 and after installing photoshop 7, make sure you also install the 7.01 update.

dave – thanks for this.

In another forum I was advised to do a repair install after deleting some stuff put in there at OEM install.

My kneejerk reaction is to backup everything, format the lot and do a fresh install of XP Pro SP2 (retail) and I think I will follow this through

BTW: good to see you back!
