Hello World.

I have successfully created an imagemap with ImageReady. It contains a lot of slices and all the links I need.

I have chosen to save the optimized version of the imagemap, so I got my HTML-Document and the folder which contains all images.

What I want to do now is to use this imagemap in an completely different HTML-Document.

So I did the following:
– Copied the content of … into my head-tag
– Copied the complete content of … to the exact location in my "external" HTML-Code.

What I got was not bad – on first impression.
All images were correct, but all rollver-actions are not visible. On Click (Rollover: Selected) I am linked to the exact location.

But why are the animations (slices) not working?
It looks like the Preload-Script is not loading…

Any ideas?

That would merely make rollovers slow to appear the first time you did an onmouseover.

You appear to be talking about sliced images and not an imagemap. An imagemap is ONE image with the area co-ordinates of each linkable area defined in the <area shape="" coords=""> attributes of the <map> element.

Post the URL of the page that doesn’t work.

Well, actually it’s this one:

But why is it that big by now (280 KB)?

Looks like a number of duplications in the body. Like you copied and pasted multiple times?

Just took a quick look before I got dizzy.. 😉

sorry, just took another look and I see what I didn’t see. But I didn’t see the problem. (at least I’m keeping it up for you….)

Sebastian,

I haven’t disected all that javascript – Life’s too short! – but at a glance it would appear that you are attempting to change all the images in the menu on each mouseover. Consequently there is a mass (mess?) of code that is bloating the filesize.

I’m reasonably sure that wasn’t what you intended doing….

I want to change the images on each mouseover!
They should appear in different color on mousover and on selected.

It can’t be that difficult …

What am I doing wrong?
You have a better idea than using slices?

Sebastian,

They should appear in different color on mousover and on selected.<<

It’s ‘normal’ to have the image you are actually hovering over change, but that code appears to want to change ALL the images when any single ONE is hovered over.

It’s such a jumble, I’d start over from scratch if I were you…
