Just recently, I’ve begun to notice that sometimes while I’m working on an image, I can’t access menu functions. I double click on the top border of the image, enlarging it, then click the middle icon in the upper right of the window (un-Maximize?) and all is fine.

Only a small annoyance, but I’m wondering what could cause that. It’s obviously not Photoshop itself, as it just turned up. But if anyone has any ideas as to what processes are invoked changing the window size, and why the menus would be inactive, I’d appreciate the help.

Funny. I have an issue whre sometimes my entire history palette disappears. I’ll have some palettes stacked, and be on the layers pallete. Do some stuff, then click on the history palette to undo something and it’s blank – no snapshot, nothing. To get it back, I draw a marquee or something, then undo that. Then it reappears.

So – yes. An odd little stutter indeed.

At least it’s not a big deal. Some of these other problems are scary!

sometimes i see a clipboard quirk. after working for sometime, copying images into and out of photoshop (cs2) – to and from other apps, the clipboard will get ‘stuck’. that is, no more images in or out. although all other apps are behaving normally with respect to cutting and pasting across applications.

ps will keep pasting the last image copied OUT of photoshop even when there’s a new image in the clipboard. i can even make a new selection and copy within photoshop and that will now become the only image that will work IN photoshop for pasting, but it refuses to talk to the windows clipboard anymore after that.

quitting and restarting photoshop cures it. nothing else will, including purging within ps, etc. this happens almost every time i use photoshop lately.

anyone have any ideas?

All I can say Dave, is that there have been a number of problems – some small, some large. The response by Adobe to me personally has been to wait for an upgrade. I see Acrobat putting up dot releases all of the time, but I think there are so many issues, little ones, that they aren’t going to bother until next version.

This doesn’t, of course, have anything to do with your request for ideas, but I thought that I’d just vent for a second.

Photoshop CS2 messes with the Clipboard all the time with me. Same symptoms as Dave (and worse). It’s never happened before. 🙁

To repeat an oft-quoted line on this forum "It doesn’t happen with any other applications!"

Maybe it’s this! <http://www.giantscreenbugs.com/> 😉

glad to see (or sorry as the case may be) that i’m not alone. i was thinking it was gremlins…

chris, any other reports of ps losing contact with the clipboard occasionally? any suggestions in case it’s a pebkac error?

Yes, Windows doesn’t always tell us that the clipboard is updated.

There should be a registry file on the CD that forces Photoshop to ALWAYS import the clipboard when switching applications.

Chris, what’s the registry file called? Might help with the original problem??

it’s called something like "alwaysimportclipboard.reg" dana. not on my ps machine now so not sure, but if you search for "*.reg" under the cs2 folder in program files\adobe you should be able to spot it.
