Hi,

I was just over at the AMD Forum and there was a discussion on CS2/AMD compatability. The person said he
was not able to get CS2 installed/running on his AMD system. He went on to say that an Adobe representative told him CS2 didn’t work on AMD.

Why would Adobe say that?

Why does Adobe recommend INTEL, and not AMD?

System requirements Windows

* Intel® Xeon™, Xeon Dual, Intel Centrino™, or Pentium® III or 4 processor * Microsoft® Windows® 2000 with Service Pack 4, or Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or 2 * 320MB of RAM (384MB recommended)
* 650MB of available hard-disk space
* 1,024×768 monitor resolution with 16-bit video card
* CD-ROM drive
* Internet or phone connection required for product activation

hmmm,
Firebird

note: I would think that Photoshop depends on the OS and not the Processor? Any thoughts?

Lucky man, but even my aging 1.4GHz Athlon ("Thunderbird") works fine as well, and it doesn’t even have SSE. Some other products (like Raw Shooter Essentials, Bibble, and Capture One) won’t even install (they need SSE), but CS2/ACR gives me no problems at all.

If it works on mine I’d guess it *intentionally* supports even old non-Intel processors 😉

Not only does CS2 work on AMD, it works exceptionally well. If there was so much as a hint that it didn’t, I would not have ordered an X2 system.

I know it works (I also ordered AMD). I just don’t think the person was lieing about the Adobe Rep. And I wonder why "Intel" is the choice for System Requirements? Adobe is smelling more like Microsoft everyday. With the Validation XXXX I don’t feel like I own a Graphics Program. The
Program is fine but I don’t care for the Company.

Photoshop run very well on AMD processors! (sometimes even faster than on Intel ones!)

Only AMD. Nothing more.
Now AMD64 3400+ is at my disposal. I’m happy.
