I’m having a problem setting the sliders in this filter to a precise number. I don’t see any way to manually type the settings in and the sliders will jump over the number I want to set it on. Very seldom can I luck out and hit the number I want with the slider control, it usually will jump two numbers and bypass what I want. For instance, if I want a 59, the slider control will jump to 58 or 60 but not 59 (crazy thing).
Does anyone else have this problem and is there something I’m missing on making the settings?

I guess they figured that the difference between 59 and 58 or 60 is too subtle for anybody to notice, and they decided nobody would
ever need that kind of precision. I guess they were wrong. I don’t think there’s really anything you can do about it, though…

Fortunately, I’ve never figured out any use for Lighting Effects. 🙂

If you can get 59, you can do the stone tutorial from the Phong site. 😉 That’s the one I was working on.

Tried that. 59 worked for me. It skips 58 on my system. However, the 69 for the Focus wouldn’t work, and I had to settle for 68
or 71. Anyhow, it hardly matters. The difference in appearance is so subtle it’s practically nonexistant. Perhaps the tutorial
should have just said "Approximately 59" to clear up any possible confusion. Live with it being 1 off. There’s no need to be so
anal about it…
