After a recent reinstall of Photoshop 7 on a new drive, I can no longer open ANY file, without PS taking over 1 mintues to try and open the file and then giving me the following error:

"The RGB document "xxx.xxx" <filename> does not have an embedded color profile. How do you want to proceed?"

I then have a choice to Leave as is or assign a profile.

This happens with all file types, even on files that I created using Photoshop just few minutes earlier and on files opened fine on previous installations of PS.

Tried downloading the 7.01 update but that did not fix the problem. Tried downloading the ignore color space utility that did not fix the problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

This is not a problem. Photoshop is telling you the file has no profile. This is a Good Thing.

If you really want to turn the warning off (which I don’t recommend), go in colour settings.

But this happens on EVERY file, files that it previously found profiles on. Files that are created with photoshop that have profiles assigned.

Also this doesn’t explain why it’s taking 60-90 seconds to open any file as well.
