Photoshop 4 to CS

I have my Photoshop 4.01 disk and serial number. I have my Photoshop 6 upgrade disk but no serial number. I have my CS upgrade disk and serial number. Both 4.01 and CS have been registered with Adobe.

I now have to move CS over to a new pc. I think that I remember when I rebuilt my previous machine that I had to install version 6 before I could upgrade to CS. It would not upgrade from version 4 directly!

I am correct in this thinking and do I use my 4.01 serial number when installing version 6; I think I remember this as well?

No. Just install CS. It will ask you to insert your previous version CD to verify you are eligible to upgrade. You don’t have to actually install the previous version.

If it refuses to allow, it will be because you have used up your two permitted installs. In which case just phone customer services and tell them you are moving CS to a new PC.

You can physically install it a thousand times if you want. You can only activate it twice.

Just install the CS upgrade and when prompted use the PS 6.0 CD for verification of upgrade eligibility.
