If you do not use CS and your computer is stable then why bother? You can manually remove the CS directory via Explorer if you feel you must.
empty the temp folders and try again. if that fails, reinstall then uninstall from add remove programs
This morning I tried the temp folder approach and no impact. Then did a reinstall and attempted an uninstall and it just refuses to uninstall.
try again is safe mode. are you getting any errors?
No go in safe mode. This is really strange. Is it possibly since my CS was an upgrade to PS7 and CS2 and upgrade that this has something to do with it refusing to uninstall?
Additional information:
No errors at all. The normal screens popup for when I click "change/remove". The last screen comes up and quietly goes away.
wierd. maybe uninsgtalling all versions of ps then just reinstalling cs2 would work… uninstall cs2 first. then try to uninstall cs, if that doesn’t work reinstall cs then uninstall. very strange. something is holding onto or grabbing the setup.exe (uninstaller). that’s why i asked about temp folders way back when. did you check all temp folders? including the ones in c:\ c:\windows and c:\documents & settings\username?
Hey Dave. I will check again the temp folders and see if I missed anything. I bypass add/remove programs and went right into the CS folder and double-clicked on "setup.exe" and got exactly the same response. On the positive side with respect to CS2, I just posted that I got it to improve significantly in performance and what I did. Even if I don’t ever get CS to uninstall, this last victory in performance makes me a happy camper!

cool! i just read that. maybe you should leave well enough alone! 🙂 at worst if you want to save space you can just delete the cs folder itself and the photoshop 8 folder in docs & settings\user\appdata\adobe. the reg entries will still be there but you’ll pick up the space. don’t know about your drive situation, but space is cheap these days. i’d give it an average effort and if you still can’t do it, i’d leave it.
glad your cs2 is working. can you send the fonts to chris as he requested? maybe he can see something that adobe’s missing (he’s an adobe engineer in case you didn’t know)
