Because you missed something in the print with preview setup or the printer driver dialogs?
Good question, but I double checked all settings and they are the same.
iirc, there are some differences in the print w/preview dialog. i don’t have my cs2 system hooked up right now or i’d check for you, but they’re there. please look again carefully, i’m sure you’ll find it.
Ihave noticed a real difference when printing from CS2 using the same profile, all setting the same as CS. Some selections have changed in the new Print with Preview box, but all settings are comprable. Mine had a horrible yellow. I uninstalled and when back to CS until I hear about an update or what is the problem.

If you see a difference, you probably made a mistake.
David is right. I printed 11 images last night with CS using the profile I had custom built for my Dyesub- all perfect match to each other and the screen. CS2 arrived today and I about fell out of my chair when the first print came out using the same image with any edits. I double checked the print preview settings, the color space settings and went back and printed the same image again in both products. I’ve been testing this repeatedly all afternoon. No question at all that CS2 adds a mild yellow cast to the printed output relative to CS. In my case the CS printed output matches my screen display in both CS and CS2 more closely.
The image and working colorspace in my case is Adobe RGB1998. The color settings for both products match. I am converting to the same ICC profile using the print-preview engine using Relative Colorimetric with black point compensation. The image is 8 bit RGB. All color management in the print driver is shut off. I wish there were another explanation or option or a user error that I could ascertain as I didn’t budget for new printer profiles for CS2!

I’ve now printed a dozen copies (all the same image) using CS2 and another dozen using CS. In every case using CS2 I see a small shift in hue. If there is another setting I should try or check please do share.

Please check that you have picked the same media type and quality in the printer driver in both CS and CS2. While you are at it, also double check that printer color management is off and that all other printer driver settings are the same.
thanks for the reply mike – I assume you mean the printer settings under the PageSetup option then under Printer. I had checked all this before but neglected to mention that so I just checked it again from both CS and CS2 just now.
My printer driver has but a single Color Adjustment (on) or (off). It’s been off since I installed it and I checked to make sure that coming to the driver from CS or CS2 it still displays toggled off. I have no media options, there is only one paper type for my printer.
If there are other printer driver/media controls inherient to Photoshop then I am and have always missed finding them. Please let me know!

goo, that is what I meant. I can’t explain your experience. Chris Cox has said that the printing code is essentially the same between the two versions; only the interface differs in wording. I have not noticed any difference in the printing between CS and CS2 using the same settings, with my Epson 2200.
You might try one additional test. Print the same picture from both using printer color management (in Photoshop and in the printer driver) and see if there is any difference.
I took my photos to the shop that created the profile for my printer. The yellow shift in CS2 output relative to CS is slight but plain to see and replicate every time. They said that I needed a different profile for every application that I intended to print color controlled photos from. Implying that I needed a new profile for CS2 as well – Humph! I am very critical with color accuracy and have invested heavily to get it right. The idea that CS2 could output colors differently from CS, even a little bit, is upsetting. Imagine if a new version of Excel yielded just slightly different calculations from the same financial model. I get that "other than the UI, the code is essentially same", but something must be different. Whatever it is, I can’t find it.
