Hi All,

Well, I am back and am still having the same problem. I cannot find the forum message mentioned by CDNRascal either and I am the one who posted about it.

I did temporarily resolve the problem by making a new user and loading it there. Now, even that went bad and I can’t use my mouse with that user name.

Anyhow, I have removed the preferences from both CS and CS2, installed, reinstalled, begged, threatened, done everything I can think of and am still having the problem.

After months of not using this stupid program, I may just break down and call tech support. Seeing as how I am not the only one having this problem, hopefully they won’t charge me.

If I do get it resolved, I will report back.

CDN, you actually had two sets of preferences — one for each logged-in user. When you re-installed PS or trashed your preferences, were you only dealing with the Administrator’s preferences (which caused you no trouble) or did you also hunt down your own user’s?

Similarly, the startup options for the two users need to be dealt with separately. And now you’ve created a third user whose preferences and startup settings need to be examined.

are you in classic desktop mode or the new xp themed mode? classic is better. are you running a skinning program like windows blinds? disable it if so.

Earl,

I completey removed the second user login. I still have CS and CS2 installed with the "original" user. I removed the preferences for both of them.

When I originally installed CS2, I only had one user which has administration rights.

After I get the error message that PS2 has encountered an error and has to close – I clicked on the show details. Here is what it says will be reported. I can give all the code detail but where I think the problem is is where it says "The following files will be included in thie error report"

C:\DOCUME~1\DONDOY~1\LOCALS~1Temp\405e_accompat.txt

CS2 along with CS run fine on my laptop – I just want to use it on my desktop with the dual monitors.

I am about ready to reformat and start new – but I hate doing that.

Dave,

I am in classic mode and not running a skinning program.
