I give up. I have been going in circles reading and reading and reading, but to no avail. Seems no matter what I do, I cannot save an action I made. I try button mode and non button mode, but Save Actions is always greyed out. My action is not on the root of the actions pallet, but rather, under Default Actions. I can easily move it between the categories, but never to the root. Are the two issues related? What’s the secret to saving my action? Without that, I cannot do the Ctl+Alt with the save like I also want to do.

TIA,
CS

As far as I know you can only save Action Sets. Make a new set, eg "My actions", and put your new actions in it. Then save that. You can then load that set in another version of Photoshop if you upgrade.

Yep, that’s the ticket! You’d think the menu item would be called Save Action Set, not just Save Action. The Help menus don’t help either.

Thanks!
