I am experiencing a bug in Photoshop7 with the move tool (which started only recently). For some reason, if I have text on a layer and I try to move it with the move tool, 99% of the time Photoshop will try to grab a layer below the text and move it instead. I have to zoom way in and make sure my cursor is directly on the text in order to move it. Its pretty frustrating and I end up trying to lock all the layers below the text.

Since this only started recently I’m wondering if this bug is driver related.

Has anyone had this experience or have any suggestions?

I’ve already tried re-installing but it hasn’t gone away.

Uncheck "Auto Select Layer" in the options bar.

Reinstalling will only cure this type of thing if you first delete the preferences (which will often/usually make re-installing unnecessary.)
