I’m obvioulsy a novice, but is there an easy way to add a simple shadow to an image? Is there an easier way than drawing a circle and then using the dodge tool?

Thanks.

Double click your layer… this SHOULD bring up the dialogue box for Effects.

Double click on Drop Shadow, and play with the settings….

Thanks. I have done that, but it appears to add a shadow to the entire image. I’m just interested in adding a shadow around the base of the image (so it looks like light is coming from the top). Any suggestions?

You can alter the angle/depth/distance/density/harshness/softness of the shadow from within the Drop Shadow dialogue box.

Read the Help files a bit.

….or the manual.

Thanks. Did that, too. Actually, I found what I’m trying to do could be done much easier in Illustrator.
