could someone recommend a good photoshop book for me? i’ve tried the photoshop 7 bible, but i think it may be too
comprehensive and black and white for me. i’d like a
colorful and fun book to jump into photoshop.

One good way is to go to www.amazon.com and in the search, type in "photoshop". I will return a ton of photoshop books under the "books" category … all with customer reviews that are very helpful. I’ve bought two of them, mostly by customer reveiws, and have been very satisfied with both. Most of the books they have are linked to some pages in the book where you can see what’s actually in them.
I don’t know what your level of photoshop is so I can’t recommend a specific book, but poke around there and see what you like.
