I am using Adobe Photoshop CS2 and am noticing that when I open images in the program, they look dramatically different anywhere else- like say Windows XP’s Image preview. Is there a way I can tweak Adobe so I have a more accurate view?
Thanks!

I presume you mean color or darkness/lightness. If that’s the case, the issue is related to the fact that Photoshop is a color managed application and is reading embeded color information, while the rest of your programs are ignoring it.

You should run Adobe Gamma from the control panel. Before doing so, spend 15 minutes at Ian Lyons’ site. It has helped numerous folks in immeasurable ways, and will definitely help you with Adobe Gamma.
