Hello. I am using Adobe Photoshop CS2 and when I use the "Save for web" option I am only able to save a file as a GIF. Even if I choose JPEG as the format the window that shows the optimized version still only shows a compressed GIF image. Is this a bug? If so, does anyone know of an update or fix?

Another weird thing is that I have tried to unistall it and I was not able to transfer the activation to free it up for the reinstall. I get back an error code of "93:-1"

Thanks!

Eddie

Is the image in Photoshop in "palletted" mode?

How can you tell if the image is in "palletted" mode?

Look at the image’s title bar. After the file name you will find the file mode. Or go to Image > Mode and see what’s checked. A palleted image is made from a limited pallette of colors (256 or fewer). The most common uses for palletted images are GIFs and icons. This mode is not compatible with continuous-tone images such as photos and can’t be saved as a JPEG. You would need to change the mode to RGB 8 bit to save as a JPEG.

Thanks. I just checked and all my images are RGB 8 bit. Something must have gotten corrupted in photoshop after my last windows update. I hate to think that I will have to reload my entire computer again. Thank god the only thing i have on it is the adobe video collection and macromedia mx 2004 studio. But I will give it sometime before I do that to see if anyone else has experienced this as well.
