Boy am I glad I found your question. I am wondering the same thing. I was told that members of photoshopusers have a script that can be used.

Maybe someone can help us.

You might try posting this question in the Photoshop Scripting Forum, or searching the Adobe Studio Exchange for existing scripts.

Short of scripting I only know one way, and it’s not convenient. First, create contact sheets of the images (File>Automate>Contact Sheet II). Put one image per page, and choose the font and size you like for the filename captions. I’ve gotten good results with 8" square pages at 150ppi. Use an action to save them in a new folder, and use that folder for the PDF creation.

For a more refined look you can write an action which changes the background of each page to black and the captions to white (or any color) before saving them.

I use Pix-to-Exe from Winsoft ( <http://www.wnsoft.com/> )

This allows the filesnames to show (or not) and is highly configurable. Best of all, the images are locked into an exe file so you client can’t get at them for free!
