Adobe Photoshop CS2

Is there a way to selectively replace one color (eg. red) with white (and black for that matter)? When I attempt this by setting white as the foreground color, I get gray as the replacement color.

Thanks

The colour replacement tool only works with colour. White, black, or any shade of grey which has equal RG&B values do not work with this tool.

What you could do is use the magic wand to select all your reds then desaturate and lighten or darken as necessary.
