90% of the time when I use the magic wand or paint bucket tools in Photoshop CS a box pops up which reads "Could not complete request due to a program error." I click OK and then the default Windows error box with the debug and send info buttons pops up with a message that says "Adobe Photoshop CS has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I’m using Adobe Creative Suite and none of the other programs have this error. I tried reinstalling but that did nothing. Next I uninstalled the program completely, restarted, and then reinstalled it but I still have the same problem.

HAve you deleted your prefs file as per the Forum FAQs? The prefs file is NOT removed by an uninstall/re-install

Yes, I tried that and it didn’t help.

Allison,

DId you delete the file from Windows Explorer (with Photoshop closed) or did you use CTRL+ALT+SHIFT?

If the latter, did you get the confirmation dialog box asking you if you wanted to delete the preferences?

If you didn’t, you weren’t quich enough and need to try again.
