I just thought I’d give a catch up on how things have progressed. Firstly, I’d like to thank all those that e-mailed me and requested a copy of the picture. I hope I replied to all of you. If some of you didn’t get a reply (no, not you, you spamming annoyance – you know who you are), my apologies. If anyone still wants a copy to have a go at then, e-mail me at: anna_keynow(at)hotmail.com or

Okay, I’d just like to say a big thank-you to two people that really worked hard. I have a lot to learn from both of you.
First off, I’d like to thank John McGerr. Your effort was well appreciated. And, especially in light of what was later discovered, was a very good piece of work. Thanks, John.
‘Cindy’ not only discovered that the picture that I thought was a photo was, in fact, either a charcoal or conte crayon drawing but, produced some wonderful results that, the owner of the portrait is absolutely thrilled with.
I’ve e-mailed both of you to say ‘thanks’ but, felt it important that I give you some public recognition.

PS: As it isn’t my picture, I chose not to display it on a public website. If you want to see it, feel free to e-mail me. I don’t think John and Cindy will mind if I show you their efforts but, I’m sure they’ll let me know if they do.
I’ve got a copy of a very badly degraded photo; a portrait, circa 1900snip. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
