I am using Photoshop CS2 and have Windows 2000 Professional. What must I do to have the PSD files show in the viewer when I click on a psd file in Windows Explorer like for example it does when I click on a jpg, a bmp, or a tif file. They show right there as a thumbnail but it doesn’t do it with a psd file. A single click on that psd file in Windows Explorer doesn’t bring it up in a thumbnail view. This is handy to check if the file you are going to open is the one you want. I believe there is a setting in the registry for this action that I am trying to get?

Gary,

"Thumbnail Icons for .psd files
Photoshop CS2 does not provide thumbnail icons of .psd files through operating system folder windows. Please use the Adobe Bridge to view your ..psd thumbnail files."
The view was originally provide by psicon.dll but this file file caused problems to a lot of PCs and Microsoft (of all people) had it removed from later releases of PS.

Thanks Mike. The real problem with Adobe Bridge is that it takes for ever to load.

Gary,

It has come in for a lot of stick from the people who have problems with it but those who have little or no trouble say it’s the best thing since sliced bread.
I hear it needs a PC with a lot RAM (1Gig and up) to work effectively. There is also supposed to be an upgrade for it, have you downloaded it?

Regards

I have a gig of ram with a 2.25 intel processor. Photoshop also loads slowly. I have seen a few other computers and they have the same problemn of slowness. I didn’t hear about an upgrade? Are you sure of that? Thanks!
