Ive been a long time user of Photoshop since version 4. Ive recently needed a more robust vector based program. How hard would it be to transition into incorperating Illustrator into my Photoshop work? How different are the tools? Illustrator is primarily used to make vector shapes that are scaleable without distortion then you can import into Photoshop, right? Is this correct? Photoshop would add more color, effects and other manipulation, right? I also had the impression that Illustrator was used to mainly to make scaleable logos.. so no matter if you need your logo on a business card or on a billboard, you won’t see any distortion due to the vectors. Are all these assumptions accurate? I am trying to decide if Illustrator is right for me in use in conjuction with Photoshop.
